Voices & Images:
Exhibit of Photos from Japanese-American Families in Monterey

Mrs. Oki October 3 - 24.
Gallery Hours: Thursday - Sunday 12 noon - 4 p.m.

The Library's California History Room has over 30,000 historic photos in its archival collection, featuring many aspects of life in our fascinating and diverse community.  In our latest community heritage project, Voices and Images, we collected over 325 photos from the albums of Japanese-Americans from Monterey.  A subset of these photos will be on exhibit in Casa Gutierrez, 590 Calle Principal, Monterey, Saturday and Sunday, October 3-4, and thereafter Thursdays through Sundays through October 24.  Gallery hours are 12 noon - 4 p.m.

This project of the Friends of the Monterey Public Library is funded through a grant from the Thomas Doud, the Sr., and Anita M. Doud 1 Fund, and the Marcia DeVoe Fund of the Community Foundation for Monterey County.
